connected

I work with historic ceiling lamp glasses from different eras that have hung in buildings of various kinds all over the world. Whether in stately or simple homes, in private or public buildings, these glasses are cultural artifacts that reflect the history and style of their era.

The “connected” series is my reinterpretation of these lights that once adorned entryways and rooms. By combining different styles of ceiling light jars and connecting the cities and countries where I find these jars, my light objects also take on a cultural meaning. I “connect” the two glasses together with a connecting piece that I make myself.
